Do you like an RP if the starter has a plot idea, or do you like to let it unfold itself as it goes along?

I like to Rp whent he first person that is posting makes up a story line and a sign up sheet so it is easier to get to know the other rpers and its more fun and interactive unless the starter makes the whole thing linear then it is just boring..... I like either way sometimes i like a Chapter System to go along with and sometimes i just like to let it unfold...
