Most people don't know about Rich Burlew, but he's the artist behind Order of the Stick (http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/GiantITP/ootscript), one of my favorite webcomics. He also does a lot of D&D campaigns, and has written a few bits about his process. Now, I don't know a lot of people that will be creating RPG campagins, but these are pretty good for any writing genre. First, remember that alignment is a guide, not a strait-jacket. Not even for NPCs. Evil characters can love, good characters can hate.
