i can't wait to see how the AGWS are going to be used in xenosaga 2. hopefully they'll be worth using as opposed to the first game. unless you spent some serious cash on your AGWS in xenosaga 1, they were pretty pointless.

not only that, but they had such horrible agility and moves, you had to defend to save up for a more powerful move. because of the agility and the wasted move the enemies usually got about 6 attacks off before you could do one attack that was equivilant to a regular characters initial attacks. and then if you got killed there was no way to heal the AGWS, it just sat there like a paperweight.

but! ^^ as for my characters and such.. all my dudes are around .. lvl 17ish; my main party is MOMO (Lead), Chaos and KOS-MOS.. :D .. I have magic caster as one of my high-speed techs.. so when MOMO goes into starwind (or whatever its called) I can steal 2 rare items before it wears off >D .. and I just got her ether skill.. that generates a "heavenly gift"

chaos and Jr are my fav characters. leave a spot free on your memory card so Xenosaga 1 and 2 can be in the same place. When you load up Xenosaga 2, you'll get some extra junk. We got some swimsuits straight up so yay!

Go swimsuits!!! Yes do make sure you have room for both on one card. I must say Xenosaga II is damn fun. I'm likeing Jin, don't know what it is about him but hes pretty a pretty damn cool guy.

interesting xenosaga 2 facts:

1) xenosaga 1 "cleared" save game data does not transfer over levels, equipment or items or anything for that matter.

2) xenosaga 1 "cleared" save game data is loaded and the levels of your characters are calculated and you are rewarded with skill points and swimsuits. (i didn't realize this and was kinda shocked that we could teach all our characters medica, medica all and other spells right off the bat).

3) xenosaga 2 has no money! no shops! no equipment! skills, techs, abilites can all be equipped and/or learned as the game progresses.

4) double attacks! ala chrono trigger style! :D turns out you can even steal more double attack techs from bosses. but i think different events will give you double techs too.

5) double ether spells/attacks? (i have not done this yet. O_o)

This is about Xenosaga Ep.1, Does anyone know what the robot body parts are for? Like the Robot Left Arm Or Robot Right Arm. I found these inside those areas with the red doors.

They're for an Ether that summons a giant robot if you collect them all (forgot its name). Comes in handy on the final boss if you took the time to collect them all (does some massive damage).

for double ether attacks, stock 1, boost the person you want to attack with the partner select the spell with the triangle button ^_^

damn! we're getting the hang of the battle system. :D

your two main attacks (square button) (triangle) hit the enemies in different zones (square = zone B) (triangle = zone C) and then the (circle button) hits either zone B or A depending on which character it is and if its a combo attack, etc.

each enemy has their own "zone" if you hit the enemy in their "zone" you will "break" their defenses and cause all additional damage to that enemy (during that turn and all following boosted turns) to cause 1.5x damage.

and some characters have an "up attack" or a "down attack" that can cripple an enemy, leave its defenses wide open and lets you string combo damage. these up and down attacks can only occur after you "break" the enemy's defense.

example:

security guard
zone BBC

our turn:
KOS MOS attacks with square, square, triangle, (stock bonus for "breaking" enemy) circle ("up attack"). boost jin. attack with circle.

result:

KOS MOS hits the guy three times, then hits him with an uppercutish looking move that launches the guy into the air. and because jin is boosted, the guy is still in the air when jin attacks him. jin jumps in the air and shouts: DIE! and slashes him with his sword in a downward thrust. and the damage is immense!

the combos we've been pulling off are insane. O_o as long as you keep boosting repeatedly the guy will stay suspended in the air or if it was a down attack the guy will be a crippled mass on the floor.

bosses have zones too and they are huge. you have to boost at least one character to get just the "break" status and then if you want to capitalize on the extra damage you'll have to boost another character to continue the attack.. and thats assuming you don't get counterboosted and then your entire string of attacks were for nothing. o_o;

double attacks.. :drool: we need more. the GS campaign gave us an extra 2-4 doubles.. but aside from the jr/shion and jr/chaos ones, we don't have that many good ones to pull off in a battle.

double ether spells.. nice. :D

example:
lets say chaos and jr both have the spell flame blast. we're in a battle with 4 enemies. if chaos and jr both cast their spells individually, they'll each hit one enemy. now lets say its chaos's turn. boost jr. now go into chaos's ether spells, select flame blast, but instead of hitting the circle button, hit triangle. another menu will pop up with combo spells. select flame storm (2x flame blast all enemies) and cast it. chaos and jr will then both cast the spell simultaniously and instead of hitting two enemies, every enemy on the screen will be blasted.

there are also other ether combo spells like (flame blast/aura blast all enemies), etc. you should be able to combo anything including medica all (more healing potential), etc.



there are some draw backs to the game like personalizing attacks for individual characters and equipment, but the positives (battle system) keeps your mind off it.

They're gearing the game more toward a realistic cg like appearence. All of the characters have undergone serious changes (except for MOMO and Jr., who only went under minor changes since there appearences didn't change much).

I mastered the battle system in an hour after I got the game. Wasn't to hard to figure out the combos, which attacks hit where, and how to do those nifty little double attacks (which I don't use, still trying to figure out how to do so. That and my main party doesn't have any DA's at the moment). The only problem I don't like with this new three zone bit is that some enemies require you to attack only the A zone, which totally screws over your melee class characters. Pissed me off in a fight the other night when I was almost whiped out due to this.

Yes I do Lady, Awakening II is obtained from Orgulla and it is for a double attack for Shion and KOS-MOS called Gravity Bomb. You need to steal it.

I spent an extra $20 for the limited edition walkthrough book. It has all the stuff in it plus it has a CD and poster. If there is anything you need help with I will help you. And from what I have read in the book there is a "new game+" option of sorts. The book says that they had to replay the game 20 times to pay off the Captians Debt. And some of the GS Paths can only be done after you finish the game.

xenosaga 2... where were all the gnosis!? O_o i know at the end of xenosaga 1 there was that huge incident.. but i didn't think they were all whiped out. O_o i did like the emphasis on jr and albedo in this story, but i'm surprised about the lack of nigredo scenes.

i like the new body they gave KOSMOS, it shows that she is a machine, but for some reason she has a bigger bust line and cleavage. O_o and she is not that significant in this game. i loved the ziggy scenes, i feel so much more for him now. ^_^

they already have at least 5 planned if i remember right. at the end of xenosaga 2 you can save your clear file for xenosaga 3.. and with the ps3 backward compatability with ps2 hardware, i don't see any issues with next gen system screwing up the xenosaga extra bonuses. ;)

Actually I heard 3 will be that last of the Xenosaga games. I don't remember where I heard it but thats what I've heard. Something to do with some of the people at Monolith leaving and stuff like that.

Thats what my informants have told me also. Sadly though it seems, from what I've heard, that Xenosaga is not doing Xenogears any justice. That and Monolith has been gearing Xenosaga to stand apart from Xenogears now. Not sure though cause I have yet to play Xenogears (must get my friend to lend me his copy).

Only the future will tell whether Xenosaga will last longer then the 3rd game or not.

Interesting indeed. So they may just rework Xenogears into an upcoming Xenosaga game, very interesting and time consuming.

I already knew the whole fight with Square business so I wouldn't be surprised if they go with the Xenogears remake approach since I do remember a friend of mine telling me that a few key points were missing in Xenosaga that were mentioned in Xenogears to go down in the timeframe they're in. Very interesting indeed.

I have just the 1 boss I gotta beat in my ES to open up the last of the last, but yarg that bastard is tuff as shit. Any hints like what level my ES's should be, what should I have equiped on em etc. ???

I am not sure which boss you are on, the last one in the book that you fight with the E.S. is called Inversion. If that is the one you ae doing it suggests Boosting MOMO's ES to 300 and using Meteor Blast over and over again. If you use it during CTC or ETH you can do upto 10000 damage or more a shot. You need Ziggy with her to do it you also ned to equip EMAX 300 to MOMO's ES.

Otherwise put Ziggy in one of the others for the fire damage. If you have it put Jin in Asher and chaos in Dinah.

its a spider mech in the forbidden device.. his hits take off over 8000 points of damage and starts the fight off with a 'hit everyone' move. i don't think the last 3-4 clear data bosses are listed in the guide.. one of the robots on the elsa asks you to find these 3 bosses and email the names to a xenosaga.com email account.. O_o lady emailed them and is still awaiting a reply.. odd..

to get more doubles, complete GS campaignes. (talk to the UMN Bunny on 2nd Miltia) and steal from bosses. For most doubles each person involved has to have a stock of 2 and you have to boost the person you want to do the double w/ on the other characters turn. then go to menu (x) and over(hit analog right) to Double.
talk to the prof on the Elsa about the Eder Kaizer.

On my game the characters walk through the doors without pressing circle and if it's a place where a movie part is about to happen won't happen unless I actually open the door. Has that happen to anyone else? Also Does anyone hate MOMO's new voice? I hate it, I liked the orignal voice better

Eder Kaizer means something like "Earth Emperor" in German. Oh yah, nice dancing banana, weirdo... Also Is Xenosaga Episode II really short because I'm already done with the first disc and I've only had it for not even a week. I only play like an hour or two a day. It hasn't gotten real good yet.

I can't beat the GS 05 Campaign... the one with the puzzle at Jin's. Can someone help me find a way to beat it... I hate puzzles.

you have to line up the colors on the left and right, and the numbers (-) (--) (---) with the up and down. after you get the first one or two you'll get a success on the campaign.. after that he'll let you do harder ones, but you don't get anything for winning them.

take your time. Its not just matching the colors, it is also matching the symbols on the top of the shelf

work on the left column first. once you get the left column lined up, its possible to finish the rest of the puzzle without touching those left column pieces again. the majority of the work is getting one end column lined up.. once you can get that, leave it alone and the rest of the puzzle will become clearer.

I still haven't been able to beat that puzzle... but I have beat the game! The final part was kinda of sad. When you can play Omega system on the clear file, are you able to watch the ending with Albedo and Rubedo again? Or does it just skip or somthing like that? I hope Albedo is in the next one too...

after you load the complete file, you can re-beat the game, re-save the complete file again, and repeat as much as you want.

lady actually did that about 20 times, stealing "awakenings" from that one boss each time.. she sold them to the robot to pay off the captains debt.. each one is worth 500,000. :nod:

I also can't beat the extra boss on the Dammerung. My attacks only do 0 and he evades. My magic does 100.

Erde Kaizer works best from behind w/ the bad guy up in the air.

The boss on the Dammerung is a bitch cuz you can't even get behind the sucka. What level are yer guys on and do you have the higher class ether spells?

My people are at around Lv50 and my ether skills are at only near half of Class 2. I have all of Class 1. I also have a PASS on 3. I'm not sure how to get more Skill points, other than battling, which takes forever.

There are 2 level up spots that I used a bit when my dudes were too weak to trash one of the extra bosses
*Ormus Srtonghold: the 3 enemies in the hall. Whoop all their asses down to little hp then on the skill pt bonus, kill them all off at once w/ Elemental Nocturne or Angelic Requiem.
*The Factory: (red encef dive, Summer) on the right 1/2 of the factory theres a spot where you can keep going in & out a door, hit one of those stock bonus land mines and fight those gnosis enemys just like the soldiers.

You need the skill pts for yer spells.
ex. The enemy casts quick on itself, your chara casts Annialation on his ass and no more quick :p there are a couple of revive spells, Best Ally brings you back w/ full hp (its just like the double MOMO and chaos do, only they hit everyone; when the chara casys best ally on himself its only for him)

To increase the power of the Erde Kaiser put aura sword on Shion before she uses it that will also help, including the air attack.

For the skill upgrade Es you can only get them from the bosses and some of the GS campains.
