This may sound kind of stupid but, I think that hes from Jerusalem because on the first one he talked about the lost area of Jerusalem. Also on a website i saw they said that chaos is supposedly "Jesus".

Yeshua is hebrew for savior; it is Jesus name. I dont think that we'll find chaos is Jesus per-say, but I do think he is a some sort of celestial being (I'll guess that he's an angel/archangel) He can stand in the vacuume of space and not explode X'D

based on his attacks in the first game i'd say its leaning more towards an angel for me. and they never did explain how he took out that gnosis on the elsa. i wonder if his power excedes the hooded strangers (Testiment, Voyager, etc.).

I have finished the game and have found some interesting information from the stuff I heard them say.

1) Yes Yeshua is the true name of Jesus but at the time the name was quite popular.
2) The circle that chaos was refering to is some what obscure, Zoroaster. That means that he and the other are angels, arch angels to be exact. They are called Amesha Spentas in that religion, Immortal Holy Ones. Orginal there was 5 but 3 more where add to their rank. Actually if memory serves me correctly, Nephelim was what they called the angel/human offspring. So I am not sure if she would be the same. Might be interesting though. :happy:

She tells Shion durring the Enceph dive that she is one that gazes into time: an arbitrator, she has been called Nephelim as long as she has existed "in this form" O_O She seems to know chaos pretty well by the way they conversed at the end of the second game...

Ofcourse it also calls them demons...there is alot going on in this game, we may have to what for the next game for any of it to become clearer. But it is a lot of fun playing with different ideas.

I like the way the game is coming from lesser known scripture/history/mythology/whatever. I guess that chaos and Willhelm are the same kind of being; my guess is some sort of immortal angelic creature, something God created before man.
I was reading down through the stuff in the link you posted and lines of Morrison poetry started popping in my head ^_^; I had to go read American Prayer.

I have been thinking about some of the things we have talked about and I remembered some of my books on different religous ideas. So I went back through them and read some more. I realized one thing; we can not forget about the stuff in Xenogears, there are many references to the Nordic religion. As an example the main ship is called Yggdrasil(the universe tree), the main captain is named Sigurd(name of a Viking King), and one of the Gears are named Heimdall (the name of a God).
SO with those in mind I went and looked up Nordic religion and found some interesting stuff: Wilhelm ship, Dammerung, is based of the title of an opera that is based off the "Twilight of the Gods"(Ragnarok). And for Nephilm if you change the spelling slightly, same pronouncation, Niflheim that is the name of the Nordic underworld where Hel rules.
Just some other ideas about where the story could be going.

So Neph's appearance may not necessairaly be a "good" thing. :faint: I can see relating the underworld to Miltia 14 years ago, they're both hell. She was the one who pushed Shion to Miltia, she chose Jr and Shion's worst memories when they made the dive into KOS MOS in Ep 1. She is more or less 'putting them through hell'.
She and chaos talking at the end of Ep 2 about how the shit storm is just getting started. The Red Dragon takein out the U-Do guy did a little more then fix a space time anomoley. It's that ripple Neph was talking about. Jr and Albedo, the URTV's, the anti U-Do existance and the perfect chain, they were even canjoined twins... That clash of power, Albedo's defetet; that created a big enough ripple for Abel's Ark to show up. O_O
When Abel's Ark does show up, chaos dun seem real happy about it. Now he's ready to get his hands dirty, he's steppin in. This kinda makes me think that the bad? guys are closer to acheiving their goals then we thought. (One of those "oh shit, now I really gotta bust ass to fix this" moments ^_^; ) He's aggrivated at Wilhelm, and chaos never gets a knot in his shorts. ^_^:
