I don't think I've heard anybody talk about Naruto here on AC. Has anybody heard of it or seen any episodes or movies? Personally I think that this is a great Anime and if you haven't seen it you should look into watching atleast a couple episodes.

If you have heard of it, who are your favourite character(s)?

I don't know why Hinata, but it may be becasue I think that she is going to become a very important charactor in the series.

I've been downloading this series for quite some time now and well, I have to wait for a new episode to be available these days. I think I'm waiting for Ep 120 ...
The music theme's are really good, and I too watch the series with subtitles to it.

Neji (for some reason he's exciting to watch)

i really like neji and hinata, the byakugan is just amazing. one of my favorite episodes is when neji loses to naruto in the tournament and it's like this curtain has been lifted from his eyes.

Ahh the qualifying matches were really emotional. Sakura vs Ino was like that too you know. But, that's why I like the Naruto vs Neji fight in the Chuuinin Exam because it was the only emotional fight, unlike Gaara's or Shikamaru's ^_^

I liked the emotional matches too. Neji/Naruto was my favorite match of the tourney. I liked how throughout the match, Neji kept on referring to himself as a caged bird, and when he was getting carted off after the match, the jounin official said something like (had to look it up...), "Heh...even a captured bird...if its clever enough, will try to open the cage with its beak. Never giving up its desire to fly freely in the sky."

Yes, Naruto vs Neji was an awesome fight, I'll have to agree with you on that. but i liked the whole thing about Gaara. Man, to be hurt like that in childhood...

The Naruto vs Gaara battle was interesting because they shared the same background. both were being hated because of an irreversable curse(or gift... however you look at it). I guess it added a little bit of extra feeling.

I'm up to volume 22 or so of Naruto manga....the thing about Naruto is it eventually began to get long-winded since they explain every single plan to their enemies while they just stand there like "omg i fell for it"

Basically, it's set in a world with countries that often are at odds with each other. Their military force is comprised of ninjas that use jutsus, with chakra being their energy source. It follows the main character Naruto's (who's 12 at the beginning, i think) growth and ninja battles and all that stuff. It's humorous at the beginning but gets a lot more serious later on.

It's humorous throughout actually, except the times when they're on missions heh ^_^. With Naruto the series, everyone's improving and learning more n more about their abilities and this story of self-growth and realization of power is really shown well. It's what keeps you guessing.

Garaa, Orochimaru, Naruto, and that one girl from the Chunnin exams... the intrsuctor for the Forest of Death... the first one to be seen in the series with the curse from Oro. She's cool, too. But those three are my fav'. Actually, just about all characters are my fav'...

But you never know ... the voice actors could really do justice to the anime. Like in the case of Inu Yasha, when it was telecast here, it was in English and the voice actors were great when compared to the one or two episodes I had on my computer. Ofcourse, Inu Yasha's voice is a tad higher pitched in the Jap version, like Goku's was in the Jap version as compared to the English one, but overall it may not be all that bad, this move.

anyway....i wonder how the anime will depict Kimimaro and Obori....how far is the anime along now? You should be getting close to finding out how Kakashi got his sharingan if you're past the initial Tsunade story arc.

Kimimaro's just made his entry and is in battle with Naruto, who's currently gone bezerk with his Mass Kagebunshin No Jutsu. They're showing 3 fights at once, Naruto's, Kiba's and Shikamaru's.
Past the initial Tsunade story ? As in, all we know is that she's one of the three legendary sannins and she's the 5th Hokage.

we are in a difficult time for anime. i know we all want anime to become more prominent in the states becuase of it's general "higher qualityness" over american animation yet we fear that we cannot do it justice from in it's original form. but dubbing has gotten better over the years and some day it may even reach the same quality. this is just one step closer to that dream.

Eeeyup, all that's over with, and after that fight she became Konoha's Hokage. Then the Sasuke incident takes place, Rock Lee's operation side by side and the group goes out to find Sasuke ;) ... I'm sorry I didn't point out those points before ^_^
Kakashi's past would be damn interesting because I've always wondered how he got the Sharingan in just one eye, that and the entire incident that must've happened to his mentor or the person he cared for most ....
During Sarutobi's funeral, he was at this monument of someone who'd died before ...

Exactly ... and that point you made in the end of your post, is really what's uber interesting with the Anime [haven't read any Naruto manga because it'd kill the suspense of the tv release].
Plus, that female Anbu member was pretty cute ^_^ and I thought she may have loved Kakashi and/or vice versa, but their love is damned because of a promise [maybe] or the death of their colleague/sensei [who's monument they were at, during Sarutobi's funeral]

You're up to the current episodes and the episodes come out once a week in japan. so 218 should be out around this same time next week. But you can usually check the ending preview of an episode to see if any time slot changes or special episodes are coming up.
